Kangaroo Valley is nestled between the crisp white beaches and rolling breakers of the South Coast, and the New England loveliness of New South Wales’ unique Southern Highlands. It is reputed to be one of only seven fully enclosed valleys in the world, and is certainly one of the most beautiful: rolling green pastures, dense virgin bush and the sentinel solidity of the escarpment.

It is difficult for words to broadbrush the beauty of Kangaroo Valley. In fact the valley’s first European explorer, George Evans, described a view that “no painter could beautify”.

Everywhere you go in the valley, the view is completely different, and yet unstintingly stunning. You will be hard pushed to find a favourite - the burbling creeks, the relentless flow of the river, the excitement of cascades and waterfalls; the miracle of new life as calves find their feet away from the mother; the platypus in his lazy roll after river dives; the wombats, wallabies, echidnas and ‘roos. The glorious gums reaching high to the heavens; the she oaks gently weeping into the river as she caresses her granite floors, wending her way to the sea.

And yet this unspoilt Pioneer township is is only two hours from Sydney and Canberra. Why would you want to be anywhere else?
